Best Universities To Watch A College Football Game

There are some beautiful campus’ across the country. From the warm climate schools on the west coast to the east coast schools that have a crisp feel to them in the fall. There are so many great campus’. But to have a great college football atmosphere on Saturday there has to be more than just beautiful scenery. You have to have a special energy around the campus that is contagious. The school has to have a loyal group of fans that are always there and cheer for their team through the good times and the bad. I’m going to go through what I think are the best Universities across the country to enjoy a college football game at.

Ole Miss (Mississippi) Rebels – Ole Miss which is located in Oxford, MS is one of the coolest places in the country to enjoy the college football gameday experience. Ole Miss has a loyal and passionate fan base that is always showing up with energy and making the most of their fall Saturdays. The special thing that they do at Ole Miss is that they have a huge tailgate before every home game at what they call the Grove. The Grove is a huge area on campus where everyone sets up their tailgates and has a big party before the game. I personally have never had the chance to experience it but I have friends who go to Ole Miss and they say that it is unlike anything else. The energy and great atmosphere are unrivaled and everyone always looks to be having a great time. Those Rebel fans sure know how to tailgate the right way.

University of Wisconsin – The University of Wisconsin which is located in Madison, WI and is another school with a great tailgate atmosphere. This is one of those schools that have a loyal fan base down to the core. Those fans will show up in numbers no matter if the team is having a good or bad year, they will be there. They also don’t complain about the weather up there. It gets pretty frigid there in the winter (sub zero temperatures) but the fans always show and make the most of the experience. The tailgating experience in Madison is a little different from some other schools due to the fact that they do tailgate outdoors and grill, but the bar scene is also a big part of the experience.

Scenario of Indian Sports Arena

Sports are essential part of a healthy daily routine. Sports do not only exercise the body muscles, but also deliver freshness and keep active. India has a great sporting history as there are many sports like Kabaddi, Wrestling, and Swimming etc., which are the important elements of Indian culture. Basically sports are of two types – indoor and outdoor. Indoor sports include the games like Billiards, Chess, etc whether the outdoor games have Cricket, Football, and Wrestling etc. In ancient time the people of India had many interesting sports for their entertainment and refreshment, especially outdoor sports. In fact, some sports have their origin in the roots of Indian culture like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and boat racing etc.

In present Indian sports scenario, Cricket is the most prominent sport in which India has an excellent track record. Football is another popular game in some parts of India, but Cricket has more popularity among the Indians. There are some world level sporting events in India, but most of them are devoted to Cricket. Also there are events for other games like Hockey Premier League. India has hosted many international sporting events as Hockey World Cup, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship in the past.

Apart from Cricket, Indians have delivered some excellent knocks in International sports. Indians have won many medals in Commonwealth and Asian games. In fact, Indians are the world champions in the games like Chess, Billiards etc. They were also the world Hockey champions for many times in the past. In tennis and shuttling there are some brilliant talents in India. Currently Delhi is going to host its first Commonwealth games in 2010. Indian Premier League is a well known sporting event in India, which is among the most successful domestic events in international level.

Many sporting authorities are working towards the wellness of the sports in India. Sporting bodies get aids from the government of India for developing the infrastructure and nurturing the growing talent. India has some world level stadiums like Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Major Dhyanchand stadiums etc. which have standard facilities world sports persons. These bodies are supposed to arrange the basic requirements for their concerned sports. Some legendary sports persons from India made a great impact on world stage. Major Dyanchand from hockey, Sachin Tendulkar from cricket, Pulela Gopichand from shuttling, Abhinav Bindra from shooting, Geet Sethi and Pankaj Advani from Billiards, V Anand from chess are among some of the sports persons who left a grand impact in international sports arena.

As India has some world level athletes and sports persons, they are very few as compared to other countries and population of India. Sporting authorities should concentrate on developing new talent from the roots. More sporting events should be organized to promote the sports in low levels. Sports persons have to move towards big cities for better facilities, since in there is the lack of basic requirements in towns. Still Indians have to prove their capabilities in Olympics, the greatest sporting event in international scenario. Indians have won very few personal medals in Olympics. Lack of basic requirements, fundamental facilities and promotional sporting events in root level are the main reasons behind the failure of Indian athletes in the big events like Olympics.

A Visit in Barcelona Spain

A Visit in Barcelona Spain

A Visit in Barcelona Spain

I have wanted to visit Barcelona, Spain for the longest time. The first time I had heard of this country was when Olympics was held in the city of Barcelona when I was a child. Since then, I’ve been wondering when and what I should do when I visit this place. That dream became a reality a few months ago. Together with my travel buddy, we set foot for the first time in the city of Barcelona, the Spain’s second largest city.

Barcelona has an excellent climate ideal for tourists. This place offers a lot of things to everybody – enjoyable nightlife, arts and architecture, exquisite food, and even the cosmopolitan experience that I am accustomed to.

There are four main districts that comprise Barcelona – El Barri Gotic or the gothic quarter, El Raval or the outskirts southwest of the Rambla, La Ribera or the waterfront area and Ciutat Vella or the Old City.

We started our day trip with walking through La Rambla and stopping at the Boqueria Market. Then we’re off to see the Catedral de la Seau located in the Gothic Quarter. We also made our way to visit the unfinished architectural master piece of Antoni Gaudi known as the Sagrada Familia. This is a unique structure because its tower resembles a castle made of sand that has been smoothed over by a wave.

Then after, we went to Parc Guell, a park designed by Gaudi. It gives us a marvelous view of downtown Barcelona. This park will make you experience Alice in Wonderland on earth.

After a long day of traveling, it’s time for us to try authentic Catalan food. The list could go on but I highly recommend trying habas a la catalana (a spicy bean stew) and and pinacas a la catalana (spinach with pine nuts, raisins and bacon). And of course don’t forget to try Barcelona wines, because you’ll enjoy its delectable taste. The white wine known as cava is a must try.

There are still a lot of things to do in Barcelona and in Spain. To finish off our trip (and because I am an avid flag collector) I made sure I bought Spanish Flags to add to my collection. That’s how remarkable my visit was in Barcelona. I hope one day you’ll experience the beauty of Barcelona too.
